Cloth masks should be washed before wearing... they can be machine washed, but it is quicker to hand wash in the sink and hang to dry.

Disclaimer:  Cloth masks do not provide the same level of protection as medical-grade masks, but they are better than nothing and can be fun too!   (Surgical/Medical grade masks should be reserved for healthcare workers who so desperately need them.)
